Our physiotherapist is a movement specialist! He uses a hands-on approach to help patients restore, maximize, and maintain movement and reduce pain. Therapies include dry needling, IMS, laser and ultrasound therapy, active release, rehabilitative exercise.

This technique involves a gentle, full-body approach that can help release muscle knots, decrease pain, and promote relaxation. The technique relies on a combination of kneading, long, flowing strokes, deep circular motions and passive joint movement techniques using a variety of pressures. The massage will be tailored to your specific needs based on the communication between you and your therapist!


Massage Therapy - Deep Tissue

Deep tissue massage uses more pressure than a standard Swedish technique. It’s a good option for those with chronic muscle soreness or tightness. The technique uses slow strokes and deep finger pressure to relieve tension from the deepest layers of your muscles.


Massage Therapy - Myofascial Cupping

Myofascial cupping involves the application of decompressed cups on the skin. These create a vacuum effect that lifts underlying tissues such as the fascia and muscles, blood and other fluid that is close to the surface of the skin. Sometimes the suctioned cups are moved across the affected area. This can be a somewhat aggressive technique that may leave bruising after the treatment.

As a massage therapist, I have always been interested in how the body works and traditional healing practices. After working a few years as a massage therapist, I found that I really enjoyed helping people relax and feel better. I believe that massage therapy is a great way to promote relaxation, reduce stress, and manage pain. I am passionate about helping people feel their best and reach their wellness goals.

Megan Dobbie is a Registered Massage Therapist at Able Body Health Clinic and a member of the National Healthcare Practitioners of Canada. Megan graduated from the Lethbridge College Massage Therapy Program (Accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation) in 2021 with “Honours with Distinction”. This program includes the 2200 clinical hours required for direct billing of private insurance.

Megan is eager to start using her skills to help her patients improve their physical and mental health and aid in the rehabilitation of their acute injuries and chronic pathologies. She enjoys performing both therapeutic and relaxation massage and adapting her massage to her patients’ primary concerns.

Outside of work Megan loves to do yoga and enjoy the outdoors. She is also working towards her undergrad in Sociology/Kinesiology at the University of Lethbridge and plans to become a Physiotherapist thereafter.

Arun Haridas BScPT is a physiotherapist at Able Body Health Clinic in Lethbridge. He is internationally trained, graduating from the University of Calicut in 2007 with a bachelor of physiotherapy degree. He has over 15 years of hands-on experience, working in India, Toronto and Saskatchewan over that time. While working in India, Arun was a member of an orthopaedic surgery team, where he gained extensive experience with post-surgical rehabilitation. Arun is also well known for his hands on assessment and treatment approaches. He is an expert in the management of sport injuries and TMJ disorders. Moreover, Arun is a certified vestibular therapist and is proficient in the management of vertigo. Derrick Pienkowski is a Registered Massage Therapist at Able Body Health Clinic. Derrick graduated from the Lethbridge College Massage Therapy program (accredited by the Canadian Massage Therapy Council for Accreditation) in 2020 with “honors with distinction”. Derrick takes pride in his ability to help people suffering from a range of concerns. He is proficient in a variety of massage styles, from relaxation to therapeutic and deep tissue. He also has training in prenatal massage and techniques specific for the TMJ. He enjoys working with athletes, and people dealing with both acute injuries (like sprains, strains and whiplash) and chronic injuries/ health issues. He is looking forward to continuing to advance his professional skills by studying shiatsu, lymphatic drainage, and cupping.
